Your new organisation
Southend-on-Sea Borough Council are looking to recruit an administrative assistant within the Multi-Agency Risk Assessment Team (MARAT). MARAT are responsible for initiating and managing child care proceedings. The Multi-Agency Risk Assessment Team is made up of 10 individuals from Administrators to Police Officers.

Your new role
As an administrative assistant within the Multi-Agency Risk Assessment Team, your main responsibility will be to participate in the provision of an efficient multi skilled administration service. You will be required to undertake general administration duties as required, including utilisation of computer systems, IT packages, appropriate record keeping and maintenance. You will be responsible for updating and retrieving information from departmental information systems including Liquid Logic. You will need to take telephone referrals and queries on behalf of the team providing basic information and recording information appropriately, you will also need to undertake any financial tasks as may be necessary, e.g. the issue of travel warrants, petty cash and banking and the banking and receipting of monies if appropriate.

You will be responsible to assist matters associated with accommodation, car parking, liaison with building maintenance, archiving and distribution issues. You will need undertake researching and drafting of any documentation, composing routine correspondence, diary management, note taking and deal with electronic scanning of information in line with the developments towards a paperless office, the Electronic Social Care Record and Integrated Children’s System.

What you’ll need to succeed
To be successful with your application please ensure you have extensive administrative skills as well as good team building skills. You must be efficient on Microsoft packages including Word, Excel and Outlook as you will be using these programmes daily. The successful candidate will also be able to prioritise and manage time efficiently. The ideal candidate will prove to be honest, reliable and respect patients confidentiality.

What you’ll get in return
