Our Client is a UK Subsidiary of a European Quoted Group, specialising in the manufacture and supply of engineering consumables to ‘Blue Chip’ manufacturers and distribution operations across diverse industry sectors which include Food Processing, Printing & Packaging, Distribution, Airports, Materials Handling and Agriculture.

An excellent opportunity now exists for an experienced Business Development and Sales Professional to assume the role of Area Sales Manager (covering a regional area spanning West, North and East Yorkshire and N.E. Lincs) across the M62 corridor, where you can play an influential role in strategically and effectively developing relationships with high profile Customer Accounts, with a primary focus to Food Sector manufacturers and processors.

You will be used to developing relationships at all decision making levels (from engineers through to senior purchasing and procurement professionals), and be used to a consultative sales environment where the sales development and relationship process may take time to nurture and deliver successful outcomes.

An individual possessing an engineering or technical education base to your career, which has been further built upon through exposure and experience of technical sales, possibly associated with MRO product ranges, or engineering components / consumables, may find this role a natural fit. However, we would also welcome applications from individuals who feel that they possess the skill sets and experience to enable them to operate in a role delivering specialist products used on food manufacturing and processing machinery.

Reporting to the UK National Sales Manager, you will be an organised and commercially focused sales professional, used to strategically planning your work, and who possess excellent communication and sales presentation skills to allow you to operate effectively throughout all levels of business.

You will also be able to demonstrate a successful sales career to date and a track record of developing and growing sales revenues through the effective development and management of high value accounts. If you possess exposure to the use of CRM tools this could prove useful, but not essential, as full training will be provided, however, you should be computer literate (MS Office product range).

Operating from a home base, there will be regular travel throughout the Southern Area of operation, as well as occasional UK and European travel, attending sales meetings and product training events.
