Buying Scruffs Category Assistant 12 month fixed term contract

Job Purpose

The Scruffs Category Assistant works within the team to support the Category Managers and has responsibility for the Accessories category. They will p rovide administrative and technical support to the Scruffs Category team, as well as supporting the wider business when needed.

Main Responsibilities

  1. Supports Category Managers through ensuring accurate, efficient and timely file maintenance, sample management and product administration.

  2. Negotiating prices, as well as supplier terms and conditions.

  3. Ensures critical path management is in place and key milestones are adhered to.

  4. Produces reports, analysis and documentation to support Category Managers with customer requests.

  5. Develops appropriate new products and undertakes all necessary actions to bring them to market

  6. Analyses sales across their category and reacts accordingly .

  7. Keeps up to date with market trends and competitor research and reports back to the wider team.

  8. Collaborates with the Customer Services team regarding product queries to ensure that correct and timely information is provided, and resolutions reached.

  9. Deputises for the Category Managers in their absence.

  10. Professionally represents the brand and the Company, acting as a first point of contact for suppliers and customers.

Required Skills

  • Proven background and experience in the product development and buying process.

  • Experience in buying role/s, preferably gained through working in a commercial team environment.

  • Previous Accessories experience an advantage.

  • The ability to balance and prioritise workload.

  • Effective time management and planning.

  • Strong PC skills.

  • Good communication and ability to develop productive working relationships with immediate team and wider company.
