A large NHS organisation is currently seeking a very capable individual who has experience in the operational/overall management of catering services within a large organisation.

Main Responsibilities:

Provide a safe, professional and high quality food service to service users, visitors and staff across the Trust and will work with the Facilities Management Team and other Trust Managers to ensure a service user / customer centred and safety focused service;
Responsible for the service of meals to patients, staff and visitors managing a budget for labour and supplies;
Responsible for ensuring that staff are following food hygiene practices across the Trust and working to best standards and following the food safety policy and HACCP regulations;
Ensure that catering audits are carried out regularly to monitor the standards set within the department on a day to day basis, ensuring that food for staff, patients, visitors and functions is of the highest possible standard;
Manage all operational aspects of the catering service on a day-to- day basis including the distribution of all foodstuffs produced and provided;
Implement and review the management control systems for the service, using appropriate recognised techniques, to ensure that good practices prevail and exercises sufficient monitoring and control to ensure that the plan is adhered to;
Implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with Trust Policy (including Standing Orders and Standing Financial Instructions) and national legislation in procurement and food safety;
Ensure appropriate recruitment and selection of staff and the compilation of cost effective staff rotas;
Monitor sickness absence and take appropriate management action when necessary in accordance with the Trust’s policies and procedures.
A successful candidate will have:

Significant experience working within the Catering environment ideally public sector, managing others;
City & Guilds 706 1&2 or NVQ 4 equivalent, Advanced Food Hygiene Diploma
