We have a fantastic new role where you will be at the heart of the commercial plans and strategies that support Travis Perkins’ performance. Are you someone with a proven commercial background and strong experience in supplier management, sourcing strategies and negotiation? We are currently looking for a Commercial Development Manager to join our friendly and fast paced team.

Location: Our head office is based in Northampton, however, we’re working with a genuine hybrid model where you’ll have a great work life balance and have the ability to work from home..

What you’ll do

Working in a central team you’ll gain great insight into all the Commercial activities across Travis Perkins. You’ll provide independent analysis of category performance, market dynamics and supplier performance. You will be responsible for shaping and managing ‘buy better’ initiatives, leading the design and delivery of our strategic sourcing and overseeing a programme of category and supplier plans. You will also ensure that we develop ways of working that drive commercial best practice.

Ultimately, you’ll be making a real difference in how we can support our branches and customers

Does this sound like you?

– A proven track record in a commercial arena with demonstrable experience of success
– A thorough understanding of strategic negotiations and strong negotiations skills
– Able to develop strategy and transpose into a working plan for complex operations
– Strong analytical capability combined with excellent commercial acumen
– An experienced and effective planner with excellent project delivery skills
– Experience of stakeholder management, including influencing and relationship building skills at all levels.
– An effective communicator, highly organised, driven, able to work collaboratively and be tenacious in their approach.
