Job Introduction
The job of Content Editor is to be on top of the news agenda and ahead of the curve when it comes to knowing what fans want to read about.

In this role, you will lead a team of news writers to bring in millions of readers a month through live blogs, news and writing around what is trending, reporting into the Head of Hub.

As the Content Editor you are an evangelist for what stories we should be covering, and take pride in breaking news more effectively than all competitors, teasing out even the smallest details to create compelling snackable pieces of content, and ensuring no story is missed as the news cycle barrels forward.

An expert at finding out what fans are talking about through Google Trends, regular sweeps of Reddit, Facebook, Twitter, aggregators and competitors, you can create content plans on the fly to mobilise your team in the most effective, audience-driven manner possible.

football.london should be the go-to place for all football fans of our London clubs and as Content Editor you will be responsible for driving the news agenda on any given day, liaising with club writers, trends writers and other editors to ensure we have unrivalled coverage on site at all times.

  • Shift work – we cover the full day from 7am to midnight, every day

  • Increasing Google search referrals and owning search terms around clubs
  • Optimising a drilled-in breaking news process to beat all competitors for both speed and substance
  • Taking on other tasks and responsibilities as needed to ensure the success of your other duties as Audience Editor
