The Healthcare Quality Improvement Partnership (HQIP) is an independent not for profit organisation led by a consortium of the Academy of Medical Royal Colleges, the Royal College of Nursing, and National Voices. HQIP commissions and manages NHS clinical work programmes on behalf of NHS England and the Welsh Government. HQIP works in partnership with patients and healthcare professionals to influence and improve healthcare practice at all levels.

Editor – National Clinical Audit & Patient Outcomes Programme (NCAPOP)

The NCAPOP editor contributes to reviewing the provider outputs and ensuring that the outputs comply with the NCAPOP Standard Reporting Procedure (SRP) and the editorial related aspects of the Provider Technical Manual. The primary aim is to ensure that NCAPOP commissioned products are published in concordance with published guidance and that the content is high quality, easy to understand and right for our users.

Key requirements of this position are:

Understanding of publishing and editorial processes
Working in an editorial or publishing environment
Copy-editing and proofreading information for healthcare, social care, scientific or academic audience
High standard of copy-editing and proofreading skills
Knowledge of website or other methods of digital publication
Ability to develop documents or other communications to support the team’s work
Familiarity with scientific, medical or other specialist terminology
Ability to prioritise work appropriately and effectively to meet deadlines and to support a number of people with conflicting priorities
Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Word, including ability to develop and use templates
Knowledge of practical application of Accessible Information Standard (DCB1605 Accessible Information)
Highly organised with excellent planning skills to manage multiple projects

Self-motivating with the ability to work unsupervised and make timely, robust and independent decisions on issues for which they have responsibility
