ESG & Sustainability Lead

We are going through an exciting period of rapid growth, and we are now looking for an ESG & Sustainability Lead to join our team.

The ESG & Sustainability Lead will drive best practice across all aspects of ESG and Sustainability; engagement, implementation and communicating are key delivery themes. Practically this will require the ESG & Sustainability lead to work closely with a broad range of stakeholders to lead our Sustainability Strategy and champion the integration and continuous improvement of ESG in all its forms.

Responsibilities

• Lead the further development and delivery of the ESG & Sustainability Strategy, in line with the company’s growth, vision and values.
• Foster collaborative integration of ESG at all levels across the business.
• Communicate and engagement with teams to deliver practical SDG initiatives.
• Integrate ESG & Sustainability into new business projects/processes, such as manufacturing sites, procurement processes, acting as Subject Matter Expert.
• Develop ESG policies, data collection, reporting processes and frameworks.
• Define, agree and drive SBTi’s based Net Zero strategy, define climate change related risks and business opportunities.
• Identify materiality risks, ESG & Sustainability and Climate Change risks and opportunities relevant to business need to inform strategy development.
• Fulfil external engagement opportunities identified within the ESG strategy such as investor communications & education events, reports, voluntary disclosures, agency engagement, and other company communication channels.
• Deliver ESG reporting to senior managers, shareholders including annual data gathering, presentation and external annual reporting to stakeholders.
• Support TCDF finance disclosure, integrated reporting and GRI reporting.
• Define resource requirements, manage the activity of personnel as necessary to execute ESG & Sustainability and Net-Zero strategy.

Experience & Skills

To be successful as the ESG & Sustainability Lead you will have a healthy mix of the following:

• Relevant experience within environmental management/consultancy, sustainability and/or manufacturing, energy sector.
• Demonstrated subject expert knowledge, professional institute accreditation with further learning (CPD) and/or examination.
• Engaging a broad range of stakeholder to develop ESG metrics, targets and updates, in line with reporting standards and completed submissions.
• Environmental impact assessments and/or life cycle assessments knowledge.
• Management, oversight or involvement in energy or environmental management systems.
• Demonstrate experience of gender equality policy development and inequalities in business, supply chains or community.
• Knowledge of ESG landscape, current & future policy.
• Experience of delivering compliance to GHG Protocol and/or PAS 2060 standard.
• Knowledge of Carbon accounting practises inc Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions.
• Knowledge of electricity markets supply pricing, demand profile, ESS, cost mitigations techniques & alternative technologies.
• Independently managing projects and ensuring work is delivered as expected to a high standard within allocated timeframes.

• Ability to work flexibly with Teams software
• Ability to illustrate or articulate complex principles
• Analytical skills and numeracy
• Clear written English, excellent business writing skills
• Responsive to changes in deadlines/priorities
• Hold or able to undertake a standard DBS check, within probation period
• Ability to travel in the UK and abroad if required
