This is a great opportunity to join us as a Facilities Assistant and build all-round facilities management knowledge and experience, utilising all your organisational, communication and customer service skills.
Greenpeace is an international non-profit global campaigning organisation. Our independence and global reach enable us to stand for positive change through action in order to defend nature and promote peace. We investigate and expose global environmental problems, confront those in positions of power and present alternative solutions.
Reporting to the Facilities Manager and deputising for them when required, you’ll be responsible for the provision, maintenance and ongoing development of an outstanding facilities service experience for all users of the Greenpeace office, to ensure a safe and pleasant working environment.
This will include managing the reception area, greeting staff and visitors, ensuring switchboard calls are answered promptly and providing excellent customer service. You’ll also handle and distribute mail and monitor the ticketing system for the facilities helpdesk, dealing with all queries in a timely manner. Your wide-ranging duties will cover managing and stocking the meeting rooms, ensuring equipment is in good working order, assisting with space/desk planning and carrying out basic IT, general maintenance, security, Health & Safety management and housekeeping tasks.
You’ll have
Excellent organisational skills with a logical, systematic approach, good attention to detail – and ideally previous experience in facilities management or similar.
The commitment to work supportively within a small team, covering morning and evening shifts as required and being flexible with your time out of regular hours.
The willingness to carry out routine tasks with minimum supervision – including lifting/shifting heavy boxes and other items – and to learn new skills.
Good interpersonal and communication skills with a strong customer ethos and the ability to resolve queries/problems.
Solid computer literacy, including Excel, Word and Google Apps packages (sheets and docs).
You’ll be encouraged to develop both personally and professionally, taking advantage of the wide range of learning and development opportunities available to our staff. We offer great benefits such as a generous pension scheme, subsidised lunches, free yoga and a wealth of well-being resources, just to name a few. Take a look at our Work for Greenpeace pages to find out more about what it’s like to work for us and why you should apply.
We are happy to consider flexible working requests as part of the recruitment process.
