RECRUITMENTiQ are working in partnership with a local estate that is currently seeking a Groundsman/Gardener.
Liaising and coordinating with the owner of the estate whilst overseeing the maintenance of a wide range of horticulture areas, this includes the care of formal borders informal and woodland gardens.
Ensuring well-kept and presentable grounds overseeing the mowing of a range of formal and informal lawns including edging.
Responsible for greenhouse maintenance which includes propagation of ornamental plants and vegetables for the house.
Managing all hedge cutting and topiary hedges maintenance as well as weed control, safety and efficiently operating a wide range of equipment and chemicals.
Responsibility for the security for the house, gardens and main estate.
Liaising with third-parties, exter! nal contractors and tradespersons as required.
Providing key support to housekeeping staff, changing lightbulb, making sure log and coal buckets are full and laying of fireplaces.
Performing estate checks and ensuring livestock fences are in good repair and maintained.
Responsible for livestock care including feeding and haylage of sheep on a daily basis in Winter.
Local driving duties for the owners, as required.Person specification:
At least 5 years’ experience of ground maintenance and/ or gardening
Experience of using a wide range of ground maintenance equipment.
Livestock experience beneficial.
Full driving licence is essential.
Flexible approach to work with a can do attitude.
Reliable and dependable.
Respectful, discreet and courteous.
Able to work on own or as part of a wider team.This is a live-in position where accommodation is provided, but applicants who already live locally may be considered for a live-out position.
