A Health and Safety Advisor is required to join a great company based locally! The purpose of the role is to help with the development and have responsibility for the implementation health and safety strategy, policies and procedures in accordance with all relevant health and safety legislation, regulations and guidance. The Health and Safety Advisor will be supporting the manager in the delivery of all health and safety matters relating to the business.

The Health and Safety Advisor will:

  • Be responsible for completion of desktop based reviews for all business policies, procedures, risk assessments/method statements including COSHH and Manual Handling RA’s
  • Maintain communication with all contract management and supervisory staff for queries towards process or arrangements and requests from external stakeholders
  • Ensure the completion of compliance audits for HQ facilities and others under our portfolio including Safety Tours, Fire checks, AC servicing and DSE assessments
  • Compile monthly reporting of all H&S matters to internal stakeholders for KPI reports
  • Ensure the subcontractor and supplier database remains verified with all associated documentation being held and reviewed
  • Review all compliance audits held on the H&S system and log any corrective actions through to completion
  • Track and report all accidents, incidents and near miss reports on a daily basis through the electronic H&S system assisting in accident investigation
  • Assist in all submissions towards external accreditation providers including CHAS, Constructionline, SMAS and ROSPA award
  • Initiate and plan projects to aid compliance requirements out at client sites
  • Support the H&S Manager in other department related tasks as assigned to you

To be considered the Health and Safety Advisor will:

  • Have a minimum of 3 years experience in the delivery of H&S
  • Ideally have demonstrable experience in implementing health and safety in the facilities management
  • Hold a NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent, this is essential
  • Have knowledge of ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001 Management Systems, this is also essential
  • Maintain excellent interpersonal, negotiation and influencing skills, including an ability to convince others effectively
  • Be computer literate
  • Have the ability to identify needs and prioritise workloads
  • Be confident in managing, presenting, communicating and influencing groups and individuals at all levels
