12 Month Fixed Term Appointment

Due to maternity leave in the team, we are looking for an IT Administrator to join the team on an initial 12 month FTC. The successful candidate will work with the Group IT ITIL Manager to develop, own, improve and govern all ITIL 4 practices utilised throughout Group IT. Taking responsibility for all administration tasks, you will be providing support and management of quality IT services which meet the needs of the global QinetiQ business and subsidiaries. This position will support the organisation’s requirements to comply with industry frameworks and standards including ITIL and ISO27001.

Key Accountabilities:

Manage, assess and improve the ITIL 4 practices implemented in Group IT. This includes end-to-end management of the practices including any relevant reporting.

Identify improvements to current ITIL practices and potential ideas for those not currently implemented, including related procedures/work instructions/guidelines, training materials, supporting tools.

Accountable for assisting colleagues in understanding ITIL 4 practices and performing them efficiently and effectively including the management of the ITIL training register.

Accountable for updating our Global and Self Service Portals for communicating planned maintenance related to approved change requests.

Responsible for the updates to and maintenance of the IT CMDB and Service Catalogue information.

Accountable for the Service Transition practice, ensuring it is fit for purpose, governed effectively and colleagues trained where required.

Takes ownership and is proactive while supporting and implementing IT service improvement projects.

The Fit:

The successful candidate will have previous experience working in an IT environment (in a service desk, junior IT engineer, IT Administration type role), with knowledge/exposure to Service Management/Transition or ITIL. You will be comfortable taking responsibility for a number of key IT administrative task , working under minimal supervision in a busy and fast paced environment.
