Experienced leasehold Officer – 6 month FTC (Min) – £34,455 pa – SE London**

Our Client is a not-for-profit resident-led housing association based in South London. Managing more than 6,000 homes in the South of London and are now starting to build their first new homes.

We have a wonderful opportunity to join Our Client’s team as a Leasehold Officer.

What is the purpose of my job?
As a Leasehold Officer I will use a done in one approach to provide a housing management service to leasehold and shared ownership residents ensuring that the home ownership experience is exceptional for all of our customers, meeting performance targets and striving to improve Specialist Housing Services.

In my job I will:
Manage general consultation processes with leaseholders including organising leaseholder surgeries. Be responsible for implementing statutory consultation processes (Section 20) and deal with any enquiries and disputes that arise.

Be responsible for interpreting long leases, head leases, management agreements and service level agreements providing advice and assistance to other departments.

Ensure that the terms of leases are enforced and that any breaches are dealt with immediately, including implementing proceedings under Section 146 & 147 of Law of Property Act 1925, where required.

Liaise with leaseholders to ascertain repairing responsibilities when leaks and other repairable damage is reported. Liaise with repair planners to ensure the minimum of delay in arranging communal works to the building to rectify leaks.

Investigate and respond to disputes arising from service charges or other lease issues. Prepare cases for Mediation and Tribunals, attending and giving evidence where necessary. Produce First-tier Tribunal reports, court papers and other relevant documentation as required.

Be responsible for providing an excellent customer experience in all telephone, wrtitten and face to face communications with home ownership residents.

Resolve disputes with leaseholders and shared owners, including responding to complaints and members’ enquiries and resolving associated issues promptly and within published timescales.

Ensure electronic and hard copy case records are up to date.
Maintain knowledge of lease, statutory and regulatory obligations, best practice and legal precedent.

Work closely with all teams and leaseholders to deliver changes identified in leasehold experience action plan and team plans and suggest further improvements. Report to Head of Service on progress of improvement plans
