We are an award winning and leading financial services organisation, specialising in the Buy-to-let mortgage sector and due to internal movement, an opportunity has arisen for a Roaming Onsite Underwriter to join our team. This role would require the successful individual to cover the following field based South East onsite location areas: West Malling, Horsham, Billericay and Hornchurch with every Friday working at the Head Office in Fleet.
Initially the role will be home based until the offices and site locations are open.
In return we offer an attractive package with a salary c£35k and a car allowance package of £6,400. Working hours are 9am – 5pm Monday to Friday and you will receive 25 days’ holiday, 11% non-contributory pension, private healthcare, life assurance, income protection and a discretionary annual bonus.
The key function of the role is to provide a dedicated onsite professional and efficient service to a selection of our intermediaries. You will accurately analyse and understand key elements of all mortgage applications at every level of the process through to offer, whilst ensuring adherence to all policies and procedures.
Being a leading financial services provider with one of the most experienced management teams in UK lending, the Roaming Onsite Underwriter is key to the operations of the business. It is essential that the suitable individual has had previous experience in an Underwriting role, is CeMAP qualified and is used to working to their own personal mandate.
Ensuring to develop and maintain relationships with intermediaries the job holder will report to the Operations Manager (Underwriting), and have a mandate value of £500k, with the key functions as follows:
Work to agreed objectives, service standards and deliverables.
Ensure relevant documentation and information received is checked for adherence to policy and criteria.
Deal with queries and enquiries effectively, accurately, and professionally, delivering excellent customer service.
Provide a prompt reply to all written correspondence.
Responsible for approving offers for cases over tier one mandate level up to tier two.
Refer loans to the Underwriting Operations Manager where they fall outside of the lending mandate held along with appropriate rationale.
Develop and maintains positive working relationships with Head Office colleagues.
Make suggestions for improvements to processes to enhance service and efficiency.
Adhere to internal/external compliance, credit review and audit requirements.
Apply all aspects of the desired consumer outcomes of Treating the Customer Fairly (TCF).
Use initiative to resolve queries outside own area of expertise.
Take responsibility for your own learning and development.
To be successful for the Roaming Onsite Underwriter vacancy you will have proven experience in underwriting and completions working within the mortgage industry, hold the CeMap qualification and have a previous personal mandate. You will be PC literate with experience of internal CRM systems.
