Planning & Procurement Specialist

Our client is a global leader in the manufacture of advanced materials technology are currently looking for additional support within their planning and procurement team based at their Leicester site.

Planning & Procurement support in the planning of manufacturing schedules in line with client requirements. The successful applicant will be assisting the materials control manager to ensure the required materials and resource to meet these production schedules is delivered in the most cost-effective manner.

This is a temporary assignment to cover maternity leave and is currently due to run until at least Sep 2022.

The hours will typically be Mon-Fri, 8:30AM – 5:00PM, though some flexibility may be required on occasion.

The payrate for the role is £15.00 per hour, working on average 40 hours per week.

Main duties

Perform the day-to-day Production Planning/Scheduling for your perimeter (up to 10 machines) as well as subcontracting
Communication of the Production Plan to all stakeholders
To determine the material and resource requirements of the Production Plan
To support Logistics Process development and Lean manufacturing/Continuous Improvement implementation
KPI reporting on agreed metrics and targets

Key Skills

Relevant Production Planning / MRP skills achieved within a manufacturing environment.
Experience in using ERP systems
Experience Scheduling and Inventory Control
Knowledge of Supply Chain processes and procedures: scheduling, demand, and replenishment processes (Make to Order & Make to Stock)
Initiative driven and able to effectively multitask
Able to collaborate with others and create and sustain positive working relationships
Good level of computer skills
Ideally an APICS or equivalent certification
