Production Operative – Etch

Encocam engineering are recruiting a Production Operative to work in the Etch Bay at our Blackstone factory in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire.

You will be making sure the aluminium honeycomb we produce is properly treated in the chemical bays which change the consistency of the metal. The finished product is then used in the manufacture of crash test barriers also on site. You can see the barriers in action on the Euro Ncap website.

Key tasks and responsibilities of the role are:

* To work as part of a busy and expanding team in the etch department consisting of foil treatment, Etching core and static, node bond testing of Aluminium Honeycomb blocks.

* To work with various chemicals: receiving, moving and storing chemicals safely.

* Gas and electric forklift driving: it is a requirement of your role to be prepared to undertake training and thereby operate lifting equipment e.g. overhead crane, forklift truck (reach and/ or counterbalance), pedestrian palletiser etc.

* Completion of routine department paperwork and adhering to administrative procedures.

You will have manual handling capabilities and COSHH training is also desirable, as you will be working with dangerous chemicals in the Etch bay although full PPE must be worn. We will provide training if necessary.
