You will oversee the work of employees on the production floor, to organise and monitor workflow by assigning responsibilities, preparing schedules, and identifying ways to improve efficiency to maximise production output and profits.

You will be responsible for day-to-day management of employees in the department, including coaching and training employees, and working closely with the Production Manager, they will recruit and induct new employees.

Production Supervisors are responsible for ensuring that the production area is clean and safe for all staff members.

Role

· First line supervision of production staff

· Schedule and monitor production output against works order due date specifications

· Monitor and review employee performance; identify and manage issues with low performance; coach and support employees to optimise performance; address capability issues and non-adherence to company policies and procedures. Submit reports on performance and progress

· Create and maintain the departmental product skills matrix

· Create and maintain a skills training schedule

· Run perpetual inventory checks

· Ensure that a Good Housekeeping regime is maintained to the agreed standards at the end of every shift

· Recruit, hire, and maintain the correct level of training for production workers to perform their duties

· Enforce strict safety guidelines and company standards

TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

· Experience of managing or supervising a production department in a manufacturing environment

· Ability to read and interpret system information such as, system operating and quality instructions, and procedure manuals

· Knowledge of general business computer software and aptitude to learn ERP software applications.

· Enthusiastic team player with good communication and motivational skills

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
