Primarily working in defence, QinetiQ provides Subject Matter Expertise to support its customers in understanding the performance and capability of their combat systems, predominantly in the Maritime domain. With the explosion in technology advances, improved communication and data transfer services and the advance of unmanned vehicles and autonomous systems, this new fast-paced world requires us to be able to advise and support our customers in a more agile way. To achieve this we research, explore, model, design, prototype, test and assess existing and new sensor and combat system technologies. Primarily working in defence, we have roles to offer, across all levels of experience, which will ensure the UK’s capability both now and in the future.

Based at our Portsdown Technology Park office, you will become part of the modelling, analysis and simulation team providing technical services and the expertise to produce advice and support and to develop innovative solutions for our customers in the area of sensing and situational awareness; primarily for the maritime domain. This includes carrying out sensor modelling, waveform design and algorithm development for radar and communication systems, design and running of demonstrator systems and data analysis to determine sensor and system performance. These activities help our customers advance future technologies, improve sensor and system performance for Maritime platforms and help advise the Royal Navy and wider Ministry of Defence on the performance of the in-service, and future, capability.
