Imperial Professionals are looking to recruit a new Site Support Engineer for one of our high-profile clients.

What is the purpose of the role?

Applying principles of engineering, manufacturing technology and management science to the machinery in order to ensure high levels of productivity are maintained on all the re-pack machinery. Taking a lead within the team to ensure that the process operates as smoothly as possible, reducing costly inefficiencies to a minimum whilst mechanically and electrically maintaining the integrity and safety of the machines.

Job Title: Site Support Engineer

Location: Northallerton, North Yorkshire

Salary: £38,000 per annum

Type: Permanent

Hours: Monday – Friday – Early and late shift, 8hrs per day


· Maintain close attendance of the machines, in order to provide Engineering solutions, and to assist in an operational capacity when required, leading cover of the machines on a daily basis.

·Monitor all machines and ancillary plant during production (whilst maintaining the maintenance management system).

·Ensure that any rectification is followed through to a satisfactory conclusion by effective communication with other members of the Engineering and Operational teams.

·Assist in cold starting, size or product changes, cleaning in place and running a machine as and when required.

·Build and follow preventative maintenance / lubrication schedules and liaise with the maintenance manager and Co-ordinator regarding, PM activities and spare parts requirements.

· Assist with installation work and give assistance to contractors, as and when required, ensuring that site standards are adhered to at all times.

· To ensure that prior to carrying out any intended work the relevant Departmental Management is notified in order to obtain permission to proceed.

· Ensure that any specific permits required to carry out any work is obtained before proceeding to work.

·Carry out any repair or maintenance work that is required, whilst ensuring the area or workshop is left in a clean and safe condition.

·Use appraisals and one to one meeting’s with Team Managers to identify opportunities to train and develop to gain extra skills.

·Develop working relationships with the operational staff and build effective operational cleaning, inspection and lubrication PM’s ensuring the operational staff are trained safe and capable of taking on minor maintenance.

·Maximise any downtime by ensuring a maintenance plan for both engineers and operators is available to work from at all times.


Qualified to a minimum of City & Guilds ONC or HNC / Equivalent
