It is an exciting time to be joining Draper Tools and we have a fantastic opportunity for a Social and Community Strategy Manager to join our newly revitalised Marketing team at our Head Office in Chandlers Ford. Travel for meetings and flexibility on working hours may be required. Some flexibility on working hours and an option for hybrid working may be available.

We are keen to attract new talent who can make a difference in our workplace. This means that all candidates who are offered a role (between 3rd of November and the 31st of December), accept the position and start in a permanent role with us will receive a bonus of £500 (gross, pro rata if part-time) in their first month’s pay.

What will I be responsible for?

As our Social and Community Strategy Manager, you’ll be experienced in growing, managing, and developing communities across multiple channels including social media platforms, as well as connecting with offline groups such as charity partners. You’ll be passionate about creating high-quality, brand-relevant content and driving engagement with all our community groups. You will identify new opportunities and emerging trends and develop new creative content. Other duties include:

Create and deliver the Community Engagement Plan, including reviewing the social media strategy
Plan the content calendar, considering both market-wide events and alignment to the Draper marketing plan with overall responsibility for accuracy, relevancy and brand fit of all content.
Identify emerging market trends to grow our audiences and drive engagement.
Work with and promote a flexible approach that enables Draper to react appropriately to live situations such as news events or weather.
Ensure regular interaction with communities, timely responses to customer enquiries raised via our communities and pro-active engagement with influencers, sponsorship and charity partners
Expand our community of influencers, brand ambassadors and partners, continually seeking new and better ways to optimise relationships
Monitor and analyse performance of community activity including competitors and report on this regularly.
Develop new content ideas and work with the studio to manage creation of visual assets
Take the lead with digital advertising such as Facebook ads.
Keep up to date with the latest marketing techniques and technologies and trends to ensure your approach to social media and engagement remains relevant.
Support the wider marketing team with research projects and idea generation for campaign activity
Line management responsibility for the Community Coordinator
Could this be the ideal role for me?

If you have experience of launching, building, and growing a variety of communities within a business environment – including but not limited to social media, then this could be the ideal role for you! You will also have the following skills and competencies:

Extensive experience of using the main social platforms for organic posting as well as planning and implementing various advertising options
Confident with technology such as scheduling apps, content creation software for gifs and graphics, analytics apps and website publishing software
Excellent communication skills and an ability to adapt your style to the Draper tone of voice, or to match the different audiences or social media platforms
A creative thinker with the ability to spot emerging trends or finding new ways to stay fresh and relevant to our audiences
A supportive and motivational leader with experience of managing a small team
Knowledge relating to tools, DIY, gardening or the automotive sector would also be an advantage.
