Stock Controller

Full Time

POSITION: STOCK CONTROLLER

LOCATION: ASHFORD, KENT

SALARY: £27,000 – £30,000

REPORTING TO: FINANCIAL CONTROLLER

OBJECTIVES OF ROLE: Responsible for analysis of manufacturing activity against standards, inventory reporting and control of materials purchasing,investigation of variances and ensuring the stock system is kept up to date for stock used and produced in the factory,

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Completion of work orders in Sage Manufacturing

  • Coordinate with production to ensure work orders are closed once production is completed

  • Analysing production records to benchmark the profitability of each work order, producing and investigating variances

  • Participate in weekly production plan review

  • Ensure standard cost components are accurately calculated and maintained to include review of bills of material, direct labour, units produced

  • Produce reliable and accurate monthly stock analysis of raw materials, packaging and finished products; maintain the stock accounts and ensure accurate charges to cost of sales

  • Processing and valuation of factory stocks to include rolling monthly and quarterly stock takes of raw materials, finished products and packaging

  • Accuracy of month/quarter/annual cut-offs, ensuring revenue and cost recognition requirements are maintained, including reconciling dispatch documents with delivery evidence from suppliers, wholesale customers, retail stores and web sales

  • Review and control of replenishment purchase orders, chasing late orders, sourcing materials and costs and raising new orders as required by Managing Director

  • Coordinating overseas orders and maintaining accurate time lines for delivery of packaging.

  • Assist with material requirement planning

  • Updating and maintenance of bill of materials

  • Prepare new/special product costings as required

  • Assist in establishing and implementing inventory policies and procedures

  • Processing shop orders and delivery notes, provide stock information to shops, maintain end of day form updating new products, amends and deletions

  • Coordinating and executing company wide stock takes of all lines annually, analysing and processing results

  • Provide weekly reports to other departments on request i.e. expiring products, man hour summaries, open orders etc.

Education and Experience

  • Experience in inventory management in manufacturing

  • Experience of Sage manufacturing software

  • Operationally oriented and comfortable working in a manufacturing environment

  • Experience of inventory control systems with a working knowledge of manufacturing processes
