Kent Fire and Rescue Service (KFRS) have an exciting opportunity for an experienced technical Surveyor / Specification Writer to join the Property Services team in Maidstone, Kent. You will join us on a full-time, temporary contract for 15 months, and in return, you will receive a competitive salary of £36,042 – £41,433 per annum, depending on experience.

About the role:

As our Surveyor / Specification Writer you will lead on developing a suite of technical specifications, schedules of work, employer’s requirements and tender documentation to support the organisation’s ability to successfully procure fit for purpose building, maintenance and compliance works contracts.

What you’ll do as our Surveyor / Specification Writer:

Supporting the day to day operations of the Property Team

You will need to accurately articulate the requirements of the Service in the form of technical specifications/schedules and compiling tender documentation for reactive maintenance, compliance, minor works contracts, etc

Developing a range of professionally written in-house technical specification templates for small/minor building refurbishment works

What we’re looking for in our Surveyor / Specification Writer:

Knowledge of public sector tendering and procurement

Extensive experience in drafting technical schedules and tender documentation

A good working knowledge of and experience working with NEC3 & NEC4 and/or JCT forms of contract
