Technical Developer – (Courses, HS&E, Editorial, E-learning & Assessment & Testing) – Peterborough
Our client, a leading training and regulatory board are currently looking for a number of technical developers to join their team in Peterborough.
The Technical Developer is responsible for developing and maintaining products or contents within a specific area of expertise. This expertise may be applied to any product within their portfolio. The role holder will use their expertise to support development of new and existing products, to ensure they meet the requirements of their strategic objectives and the needs of the industry.
Key responsibilities and accountabilities
Translate technical material in product content
Carry out research where appropriate, and provide impact assessments on the current product portfolio
Evaluate the current product portfolio to determine suitability
Develop concepts to enhance the existing products
Commission and review content from third parties
Manage development projects and specific work packages as agreed by product owner
Accurate and timely production of reports for management and committees both internal and external as required
Attend working parties, committees and relevant external meetings
Develop and maintain effective communications and working relationships with the team and other associated groups and bodies
Act as a focal point for their specialism . This may include but is not limited to;
Qualification design Access
Training syllabuses and content Funding
Software and application development
Keep abreast of all relevant developments in legislation, technology and practice in the
Make decisions based on your knowledge of subject area supporting new and existing
Develop a full and complete understanding of relating products that you will support
Decision Making and Business Impact
This role directly impacts the delivery of existing and new products and the achievement of
their key strategic objectives and offer to industry;
Be the main decision maker for the technical product direction in your subject matter in
collaboration with Product Owner
Advise using technical expertise on how products are developed and improved
People Leadership / Team Leadership – where the role has direct or matrix reports.
No direct line management responsibility, however there will be requirement to manage and
Influence both internal and external stakeholders.
Knowledge and Experience
Deep and current understanding of subject matter
Professional Qualification in specific subject matter
Significant experience of using your relevant subject matter in previous roles and
Highly developed written and verbal skills
Experience of translating technical material into product content
